• Laden Sie die aktuelle Version von CD's HTML-Format herunter .
• Entpacken Sie HTML-Format in ein beliebiges Verzeichnis
• Sollte ein Java ^" Runtime Environment (JRE) ab Version 1.3 noch nicht installiert sein, können Sie nun das aktuelle JRE herunterladen und in das Standardverzeichnis installieren.
  Hinweise für Linux und Mac OS X:
  
  • Unter Linux muss dies im Gegensatz zu den anderen Betriebssystemen per Hand geschehen: rpm -Uvh dateiname.rpm
  • Unter Mac OS X muss ist das JRE bereits Standardmäßig installiert und muss nicht extra installiert werden

Start von CD's HTML-Format

• Wechseln Sie nun in das Verzeichnis in das Sie HTML-Format entpackt haben und starten Sie den Editor über die für Ihr Betriebssystem passende Startdatei:
  
  • Windows: HFwin.exe (oder HFnodraw.exe bei Anzeigefehlern) (weitere Details)
  • Mac OS: HTML-Format, oder HTML-Format.jar (Beenden Sie den Editor immer über das Menü: Datei/Beenden)

• Download CD's HTML-Format from the web and unpack it to a directory of your choice (keep the directory structure!)
• Download a JRE (Version 1.3 or better) and instal it to the default directory (if not already there)
• Switch to the installation directory and start HTML-Format using the start file provided for your operating system.

  • Mac OS: HTML-Format, or HTML-Format.jar (Terminate the editor always via Menu: File/Exit)
  • OS/2: HTML-Format.cmd
  • Unix: Adjust script "hf-linux.start" and copy it to the home directory of the envisaged users. The users now can start HTML-Format.

Before you start HTML-Format the first time

This section describes how to extract CD's HTML-Format and SUN's Java " Runtime Environment (JRE) ...

• Download the actual version of CD's HTML-Format .
• Unpack (extract) HTML-Format into a directory of your choice
• If you not yet have installed a Java ^" Runtime Environment (JRE) (Version 1.3 or better), download now the actual JRE and install it to the standard directory.
  Note for Linux and Mac OS X:
  
  • Depending on your Linux distribution the correct JRE might be already installed. If not (or an older JRE is installed) you have to download and install it manually: rpm -Uvh filename.rpm
  • Mac OS X includes the JRE by default. No action is required.

Start of CD's HTML-Format

• Switch to the directory into which you have unpacked HTML-Format and start the editor via the start file provided for the OS exploited:
  
  • Windows: HFwin.exe (or HFnodraw.exe if you get a display error)
  • Mac OS: HTML-Format, or HTML-Format.jar (Terminate the editor always via Menu: File/Exit)
  • OS/2: HTML-Format.cmd
  • Unix: Modify the script "hf-linux.start" by providing the correct specifications for:
    
    • Java_Home= /usr/java/jre1.3.1 (the path to the directory to which the JRE has been unpacked)
    • HF_HOME=/opt/html-format (the path to the directory to which HTML-Format has been unpacked)
    Finaly copy the script to the home directory of the users to be authorised. A user can now start HTML-Format via this script.
